Saudi king rejects mixing hajj with politics

A handout picture provided by the Saudi Royal Palace shows Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz smiling as he stands in a room overlooking temporary accommodation to visiting pilgrims in Mina, near the holy city of Mecca, on September 12, 2016. Muslim pilgrims reached Mina on September 12 for the ritual stoning of the devil, the last major rite of the annual hajj and the scene of a devastating stampede last year. Saudi King Salman arrived in Mina to ensure the pilgrims can "perform their rituals easily, conveniently and safely", the official Saudi Press Agency reported. / AFP PHOTO / Saudi Royal Palace / BANDAR AL-JALOUD / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - MANDATORY CREDIT "AFP PHOTO / SAUDI ROYAL PALACE /BANDAR AL-JALOUD" - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - DISTRIBUTED AS A SERVICE TO CLIENTS
